My name is Anh Tran, an I am a final year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Queensland. I am a hands on engineer driven by the challenge of taking complex, theoretical concepts and turning them into ruggedised, functional hardware.
Throughout my degree, I have specialized in Power Electronics and Embedded Systems. My experience ranges from architecting safety critical control modules for autonomous vehicles to designing high-voltage power conversion systems. I thrive in R&D environments where I can apply a "Safety First" philosophy to solve difficult hardware constraints—whether that means managing thermal loads in compact enclosures or ensuring galvanic isolation in high voltage environments.
Beyond the lab, I am a firm believer in well rounded development. I stay active through weightlifting, powerlifting, soccer, and American football, which have taught me the discipline and teamwork that I bring to every engineering project.
I am also passionate about using my skills to give back. I have dedicated time to the Salvation Army, Engineering Without Border, and worked with the UQ EAIT Outreach program to help inspire the next generation of students to explore the possibilities of STEM.
